10 Best Bodybuilding Podcasts (2020)

Today, we’re going to talk about the 10 best bodybuilding podcasts of 2020.

There have never been more choices available in the way of spoken word audio than there are today.

YouTube, Soundcloud, TuneIn, Stitcher, iTunes, Spreaker, Spotify and a whole bunch of other sites and apps feature countless podcasts you can easily tune into.

You can type in fitness, bodybuilding, health, what have you, into the search bar and, miraculously, you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for.

Are you an Irish CrossFit enthusiast who’s looking for some good WOD’s, but who wants them delivered with a sharp wit and an Irish accent? CrossFit Ireland Between Two Couches has you covered.

Are you a Christian stay-at-home mom who wants to get in shape and who also happens to enjoy listening to daily devotionals? The Faith and Fitness Podcast with Kristen S. Osborne has you covered.

And for each of those podcasts, there’s at least five others that are all jockeying for the number one position in that niche.

We’re living through a podcast Renaissance!

10 Best Bodybuilding Podcasts (2020)

Since everyone has different tastes, it can sometimes be difficult to nail down the “10 best bodybuilding podcasts,” however, there are a few things that really do make a podcast one of “the best.”

Like longevity, for example. If a podcast has been around for a long time, chances are it’s for good reason.

If a podcast has top notch audio quality and production value, it’s highly likely that, at the very least, they’re a contender for being “the best,” although this is not a deciding factor on its own.

Entertainment value is another factor. Some podcasts are just more fun to listen to than others.

So, let’s dive into what I consider to be the best bodybuilding podcasts out there today.

1. Heavy Muscle Radio

Heavy Muscle Radio,’ hosted by retired professional bodybuilders Dave Palumbo and Chris Aceto, is just one of the segments these guys do at RXMuscle.com

These guys run an entire media enterprise that includes RXTV as well, which features a number of segments like, ‘Ask Dave,’ ‘Muscle In The Morning,’ ‘Iron Debate,’ ‘Iron Rage,’ ‘Heavy Muscle TV’ and ‘RX Rants’ among others.

Dave is probably one of the most knowledgeable hosts in this space and he gets tons of great guests including, but not limited to, all of the top athletes competing at the Olympia, all of your favorite bodybuilders from the 90’s and 2000’s like Lee Priest, Kevin Levrone and many, many others.

2. Storytime with Gregg Valentino

GenerationIron.com has a great video series, which I consider to be a podcast series, really, called ‘Storytime with Gregg Valentino.’ It’s a hilarious and entertaining series of first-hand accounts from the bodybuilding scene circa 1980-90 up through modern day, as told by “ramblin’ freak” Gregg Valentino.

They’re no longer putting out new episodes, but you can check out the archive here.

3. Sam’s Fitness on YouTube

This one, kind of like the last one, is not really a “podcast” in the technical sense, but, as Lee would say, “who caaares?”

It’s basically semi-retired professional bodybuilder, Lee Priest, answering fan mail and sounding off on a variety of topics from bodybuilding to politics to COVID-19 and more. It’s hysterical and if you’re a fan of Lee Priest, like I am, you’ll enjoy it. You can check it out here.

4. Real Bodybuilding Podcast

Professional bodybuilder Fouad Abiad is the host of Real Bodybuilding Podcast.

It’s one of the few podcasts out there that talks about the ins and outs and everyday life of a modern day professional bodybuilder. He has great guests on as well and has his finger on all the hot-button issues related to today’s bodybuilding scene.

5. Bodybuilding Nerds Radio

Bodybuilding Nerds Radio is exactly what the name suggests. It’s two bodybuilding superfans, Vijay Puri and Scott McNally, nerding out about all things bodybuilding related.

The hosts are fun and engaging dudes and they put on a really good podcast. McNally is also host of Advices Radio a subsidiary of Think Big Bodybuilding Media.

6. Bodybuilding.com Podcast

Everyone knows Bodybuilding.com and what a great resource it is for both novice and experienced bodybuilders and the podcast they put on is just as good of a resource.

Listening to the Bodybuilding.com Podcast is like being a fly on the wall during some pretty cerebral and technical conversations with expert coaches and trainers on topics like form, sets, reps, diet and more.

7. Nick’s Strength & Power

Nick Miller is like bodybuilding’s news anchor, if there was such a thing. He’s usually one of the first on the scene to put out news briefs about the latest developments in the world of bodybuilding, and while this doesn’t exactly amount to a ‘podcast,’ it’s pretty damn close.

Check out Nick’s Strength and Power here.

8. John Doe Bodybuilding Podcast

What I like about the John Doe Bodybuilding Podcast is that he’s an average guy who’s not some big name in the bodybuilding world, or anything like that, but he is freaking knowledgeable and talks like one of the boys.

He talks about living the bodybuilding lifestyle while working your regular 9-5 and gives you tips for how to make it all work.

9. 3D Muscle Journey

3DMJ is made up of a team of fitness coaches who offer a shit-ton of value on all things fitness and bodybuilding-related.

They tout serving the “drug-free strength and physique community” and utilize “holistic coaching” to help athletes reach their full potential.

You talk about a wealth of information; these guys and girls are powerhouses. Check out their podcast here.

10. The Revive Stronger Podcast

The Revive Stronger Podcast is run out of the U.K. and is all about building a community of fitness fanatics by providing massive value to folks looking to excel at powerlifting and/or bodybuilding.

You can check out their podcast here.

Am I Forgetting Anyone?

I looked through a bunch of podcasts before coming up with this list, so hopefully, I did a good job.

If I missed, or forget to mention anyone’s podcast that should really be up here on this list, then I apologize.

Shoot me an email with the link to your favorite bodybuilding podcast and maybe I’ll update my list. You can call and leave me a voicemail at 917-267-8590.

There Is One More . . .

I put together a fitness video podcast called Fez Garcia’s Yoked, but it’s not even in the same league as some of these other great podcasts.

It’s geared toward your average Joe, your washed-up former high school athlete who used to be in shape, but now has an extra twenty to thirty pounds and jowls. Kinda of like me.

So, yeah, come hang out with me and let’s get in shape together!
