When you’re carbed up and working out, it’s a night and day difference between that and when you’re working out carb-depleted. Somehow, I forgot this from not working out consistently for years and my memories of things being kind of foggy.
But, I had the most unreal, awesome workout just one day after no getting any sleep and not being able to workout on my usual Monday!
Yesterday, Tuesday, I woke up at 5 AM after sleeping like a baby and felt stronger than I have in possibly years!
I’m thinking this has to do with the fact that I’ve basically been eating a keto diet, but not on purpose, just out of habit. I don’t know why, but I just stopped eating lots of carbs, like I used to a few years back. Maybe it was all the keto craze stuff that we’ve all been hearing for a while now.
First it was the keto, then the carnivore diet blah blah blah. It’s the latest, newest thing, so of course it has to be the best, right? I guess I kind of fell for that too, at least subconsciously.
But, after consciously eating more carbs for a day and replenishing my glycogen stores, I had the best sleep in a long time and felt like the incredible Hulk while working out. It was a phenomenal feeling.
All I have to do now is continue to eat high carbs, while making sure I get enough protein in and continue sleeping great and working out like a beast and I think that’s my game plan going forward! Let’s do this thing!
