Working out and chatting on Twitch about life before the internet, the crappiness of today’s music, and whether Twitch is actually a viable platform for fitness content creators.
This was my second livestream on Twitch and I have to say, it’s a little weird. There are things I liked and things I didn’t like.
What I liked was that I was able to connect with people online in real-time. What I didn’t like was that Twitch seems to attract people who are mainly interested in ogling other people’s bodies.
If a person is on the livestream for the main reason of wanting to ogle someone else’s body and nothing else, then there’s very little difference between that and porn, IMO.
I’m not interested in becoming porn for someone else to consume.
However, I”m going to use Twitch for a little while just to see if it has the potential to be a viable platform to educate, motivate and inspire others to get in shape. I might have to do it in a way that is more focused on delivering information, though, rather than solely working out on video.
There are lots of different categories on Twitch, though, so maybe I’ll migrate over to ‘Talk Shows’ or ‘Just Chatting’ or somewhere else, in order to do this.
We shall see. Stay tuned.
